2007 Delaware Beach Life Writing Contest

Sponsored by the Rehoboth Beach Writers' Guild & Delaware Beach Life magazine
Theme:
The Rehoboth Beach Writers’ Guild, in partnership with Delaware Beach Life magazine, is looking for unpublished poems, short stories or creative essays that center around a coastal theme (this need not be the Delaware coast). Writers may submit up to three poems; prose should be no longer than 2000 words.
Judges:
Fiction: Leslie Pietrzyk (Pears on a Willow Tree; A Year and A Day)
Nonfiction: Lisa Couturier (The Hopes of Snakes)
Poetry: Shara McCallum (Song of Thieves; The Water Between Us)

Guidelines:
- Type the entry title on a separate cover sheet along with your name, address, phone number and email address. Indicate whether this story is FICTION or NONFICTION or POETRY.
- Submit TWO copies of material (writer’s name should not appear on the entered manuscript).
- All entries must be typed in 12-point Times Roman or similar font in English. They must be original, unpublished, and not submitted elsewhere. No email entries.
- Submit entry via regular mail on single-sided 8-1/2 x 11 white paper. Entries will not be returned. All Entries must be postmarked by October 22, 2007.
- Winners will be notified by December 1 and asked to submit winning entry via email. If you have not been contacted by this date, you may assume that your entry is not a finalist.
- A $10 dollar reading fee must accompany each entry. Please make checks out to 'Writers at the Beach' and include a SASE (for contest results).

Winners:
Announcement of winners will appear on the “Writers At the Beach” website on Dec. 15, 2007. First place winners will have their entries published in the winter edition of Delaware Beach Life (editing changes may be made at the publisher’s discretion). Winners will also receive free registration to the fourth annual “Writers At The Beach: Pure Sea Glass” writing conference (March 14-16, 2008) (www.writersatthebeach.com).
