Ilona Holland
Ilona Holland retired from the faculty of the Harvard Graduate School of Education in 2014. While at Harvard, she specialized in the development of technology-based educational programs and collaborated on projects for museums, schools, and the edu-tainment industry. She contributed to the educational development teams for PBS shows like Martha Speaks, CyberChase, Wild Kratts, and Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego, as well as the Emmy award-winning show, WordGirl . Working with rough footage for television and film helped Ilona prepare for her shift to writing books for children. Her first book, Buddy Bison’s Yellowstone Adventure (National Geographic Kids) was selected by Hoda Kotb of the Today Show as “her favorite thing” and was featured on Kathie Lee and Hoda in 2016. Her second book, The Lost Locket of Lewes (Lewes Historical Society) received the first-place award for children’s fiction given by the Delaware Press Association, 2019. Ilona has been an active member of the RBWG for since 2015.
